IVF and Donor Egg IVF Success Rates

Please take a few moments to review our IVF and Donor Egg IVF success rates. IVF success rates vary according to many factors including female age, cause(s) of infertility, previous treatments, genetics, presence of male factor, and others.

Donor Egg IVF success rates are typically high because the eggs are retrieved from a young female. If the eggs of a healthy, fertile, 22 year old donor are placed in a 46 year old recipient, the success rates will equal the 22 year old age group (if no other contributing factors are present). Donor egg is often the only hope of pregnancy for women who have experienced ovarian failure.

Success rates also vary by clinic. Our donor egg program is one of the largest in the southwest and we have extensive experience and excellent success rates. The CDC publishes IVF success rates data by fertility clinic but these data are typically two years old. The latest success rates data available for the Presbyterian-Harris ART Program (and all other programs in the United States) from the Centers for Disease Control are for the year 2003. Please follow this link to review the CDC IVF statistics.

Success Rates Explained

Fertility clinics are required to report their success rates to the Centers for Disease (CDC) Control in accordance with the Fertility Clinic Success Rate Act. At this time, DFW Fertility Associates data is reported within the Presbyterian-Harris Methodist Hospital ARTS Program which includes several other IVF programs. The success rates published by the CDC are typically 2 years "old" because delivery data is required. For example, data from IVF conducted in 2003 must include delivery data that occurs as late as September 2004 (from cycles conducted December 2003).

At the present time, all eight practices using Presbyterian-Harris Hospital ART services report officially to SART and the CDC as one program. The 2004 data has already been submitted, and the 2005 data will probably be submitted in the same format, i.e. grouping the data/success rates. We hope to report the IVF and Donor Egg success rates statistics for DFW Fertility Associates separately in the near future.
